Dora and Jeb meet

Dora Miller met her would-be murderer in 1993 at a company dinner. Why would she be presented to Jeb Davis of all people? Donald introduced Dora to him two other times in 1994. Dora did not know why, but she did not like him. Jeb was a “very good looking man” as stated many times by Donald. Jeb and Donald’s “bromance” is still active to this day with this friend and employee. This fact fulfilled Donald’s emotional and bi-sexual appetite as well. On July 5, 1995, Jeb Davis was charged with aggregated kidnapping punishable with life in prison with no possibility of parole, burglary, false imprisonment/acts of violence, assault with a deadly weapon, extortion, and sentenced to prison for 14.9 years on January 15, 1996.

Disclaimer

Names have been changed as well places and specific dates identified in this true crime. Dora served Donald’s purposes for twenty years, but her expiration date had now arrived. She cooked, cleaned, chauffeured, and was continually raped by Donald.

Jeb, Seattle and the deal

Jeb went to Seattle before Dora’s attempted murder where he mysteriously hit his head, was found unconscious in his hotel room, and disappeared from his job for days. Jeb was fired from Dulcimer because of his cheating and lying. The Seattle trip was the last draw so Donald and his employees decided to fire Jeb. Donald went one step further; promised Jeb his job back and a few thousand dollars if he just did him a little favor. Jeb did his bro a favor that went awry. When Jeb returned from Seattle, he bought a pellet gun from his daughter, Tomasita’s birthday funds right before Dora’s attempted murder. Tomasita saw her father practicing to be “a hitman” a few days before this violent act and he came to Dora armed with his brand new pellet gun purchased for the “hit”.

A murder plot

Jeb also brought a hunting knife prepared to kill Dora as well as his new air pistol. Jeb unknowingly revealed his strategy with his daughter, Tomasita who told her mother, Belinda. She stated that Jeb stood in front of the bathroom mirror and said a practiced speech. “Why is daddy looking into a mirror, making believe that he is a badman?” asked Tomasita.

Belinda said “I did not know that Jeb was fired from Dulcimer until sometime after the hostage situation while Jeb went to jail for many years. I also never understood why Jeb attacked Dora in the first place if he was angry at Donald.” Jeb was even dishonorably discharged from the military, loved firearms as well as warfare. Jeb never discussed Dora nor talked about her. Why would he? Jeb did not know her except that he knew that Donald wanted Dora out of the picture and he needed to help his bro, Donald.

Jeb and Donald take a walk up the hill

A couple of the mornings before Dora’s fateful day (June 27, 1995), while Dora was teaching, Donald escorted Jeb up the Oak Preserve behind their house and through the unforested land on top of the hill. Now, Jeb was ready for the first day of Dora’s summer vacation. Jeb came through the Oak Preserve behind the house, entered the unlocked back gate that opened to the backyard. After Jeb made passage to the backyard, he hid in the bushes until it was safe to enter the unlocked side door to the garage. (Donald set up the scenario so Jeb could make easy access and escape through the back and walk a couple of miles to safety through the woods only known by a few residents. These rows fascinated Donald. There are about fifteen miles of deer trails above the Oak Preserve at the top of the hill for Jeb to escape after he kills Dora).

The hate crime

Donald wrote “Die…” on their wall above the garage door button on June 28, 1995. Jeb said last week during the interview with the PI, “It was just in case I needed to make this look like a hate crime. It was a diversion”. There was no reason for a diversion since Dora lived.

Donald’s ringing the doorbell plan

“Jeb would ring the doorbell, there would be a struggle, you would be killed or go to jail,” stated Donald to Dora as recently as 2015. Instead, Jeb hung out on the various streets of Dora’s neighborhood on June 29, 1995. Charles, a neighbor noticed him walking throughout the neighborhood after he moved to another location. Jeb came to kill Dora. He told her that “I am a hired hitman to kill you because your husband pissed someone off.”

Arrival

After meandering through the development, Jeb arrived at the property in the afternoon of June 29, 1995. That walk helped him decide to go through with Dora’s murder. Neighbors like Katrina from across the street were concerned about Jeb’s presence as this is a quiet, bedroom community. Katrina was positive that Jeb entered the backyard through the preserve as she never saw him enter through the front as not to cause any more attention.

Since Charles noticed him earlier, Jeb took Donald’s advice and entered through the back of the property. He would only be noticed by the deer who lived above the Oak Preserve. This was the first day of summer vacation which generated many children playing in the streets and on hills like Katrina’s children (the hills they played on were a few feet from Dora and Donald’s house; it was a close-knit community).

The Hitman

Dora took Gusilu for a walk around the outside perimeter of the house. She attempted to go through the garage at 4:00 pm on June 29, 1995. Her nail appointment was at 4:30 pm. Donald was aware that she was going to be home all day until her appointment. Jeb attacked Dora at 4:00 pm by putting her in a chokehold, threw Gussilu to the ground as he pulled Dora into the garage, and then slammed the door shut with Gussilu outside. He threw Dora to the floor, assaulted her, then changed the focus away from rape. Jeb demanded $10,000 from Donald’s business account. Dora listened patiently to Jeb’s story after she struggled for the knife and lost. Jeb broke her right foot and badly sprained both legs. “I am a hired hitman to kill you. Your husband wants you dead. Your husband will never return and is done with the marriage”. Donald told Dora later that night that she should have cooperated with the hitman.

Swat Team

On Dora’s first day of summer vacation (June 29, 1995), Jeb’s main plan was to throw her out of her bedroom window after he carried her into the house. Dora talked him out of it. Jeb dragged Dora through the house telling her that he was going to kill her over thirty times during the five-hour standoff, finally settling in the kitchen where he sat and listened to the “Swat Team” overhead. In the end, Dora saved Jeb’s life by encouraging him not to kill himself because if he jumped out of the second-floor window above the backyard, the fall would cripple him. She told him that she would save him from being shot and would arrange for him to give up safely. Did he care?

Donald never returned

Dora was forced by gunpoint to make Donald come home. She tried to avert his arrival by giving him a warning. He came anyway. He was not shocked that the front door was barricaded and the garage door disabled. Jeb gave him instructions as to the retrieval of the $10,000 which lasted five minutes. Then he was off. Jeb was correct that Donald never returned to the scene on June 29, 1995, until after the crisis. He was shocked and disappointed to see Dora alive. The $10,000 was withdrawn from the bank, but it was never located. Donald and one of his employees tried to come by and deliver the $10,000 to Jeb but were stopped at the command post. Jeb recently stated a couple of weeks ago to the PI, “You must have been upset that Donald did not care enough about you to return with the money.”

Multi-million dollar LLC

Dulcimer was given the LLC a few months later which led to a Standalone Subsidiary worth approximately $200,000,000 evaluated at today’s worth. One of the employees was willing to replace Dora during the attempted murder, but has no memory of it now when recently querried by the PI. I guess money talks. Dora realized that she needed to divorce in 2012 after Donald’s multiple affairs were discovered and some of his illegal activities revealed. Dora’s Travesty of Justice was born.

The Real Jeb Davis

This case is being investigated now. The original newspaper article detailing the crime appears online, posted since the advent of the internet with the original report. There are also several inaccuracies, but it has endured in public view for over twenty years. The original article-“Man Holds Wife of Ex-Boss Hostage, Then Surrenders-Los Angeles Times” Interestingly enough, the Pinterest account for the real Jeb Davis is killme81213578. But, he did not kill Dora.

Takeaway

I will continue to fight for justice. This true crime has been delayed multiple times until now due to emotions and severe PTSD. The actions of Jeb and other Dulcimer employees including Donald have caused many emotional and psychological symptoms for Dora. “Repetitive nightmares, anger, irritability, negativity, and intrusive thoughts” are perhaps the best-known symptoms of that Dora experiences almost daily. Donald has not been charged thus far for his criminal acts. When he finally is charged, there will also be a civil suit to recoup losses from the marriage. Donald thwarted the sheriff’s investigation in 1995 and convinced family, friends, and sheriffs of his innocence. I would love to hear your thoughts. If you have any information about the case described by the LA Times above, please let me know.
